Step 2 – Locate the diverter valve under the turbo. Your diverter valve is located on the exhaust manifold under the turbo. It is mounted with three T5 bolts; the top one is in a tight place, so you will want to use a small driver to get these out. Figure 2. From underneath the front end, you'll find the diverter valve right next to the turbo So 1 is the actual EGR and EGR cooler. its a combined cooler and EGR valve. Im thinking there's a solenoid in there too. 15 is the throttle body Don't have access to a vcds at the moment but the n18 is definitely similar to 39, with three ports and it being a vac solenoid. I will have a look at wiring and fuses. It seems both points have voltage.

Posted September 30, 2022. Got the car back, the guy suggested another £100 to investigate the light being on as it showed fault codes that suggested links to the new turbo, so hopefully just historical. Cars driving straight, all good. Thanks for the advice to get it check rather than just changing glow plugs. Insert image from URL.

EGR valve is buried deep under the intake manifold in the V, you can't really see much of it at all without taking the intake manifold off.. just the coolant air bleed point at the high point is really the only access point. Reply Like. 0 Post (s) Another 1.6TDi EGR Valve Failure – 27-02-2015, 10:37 PM. I have recently joined the EGR valve failure club. My car is a 2010 Golf Plus with the 1.6 TDi engine and it has done 47000 miles. It manifested itself intermittently with the engine warning coming on, car going into limp mode and on stopping and switching off and restarting This pump has three wires of brown, violet/red, and blue/red. This appears to match the plug you photographed. The V400 pumps coolant to the EGR cooler. This is the one I think your DTC is about. The device in the plenum chamber is probably just the N422 coolant shutoff valve. It blocks coolant flow to the heat exchanger until the engine is up k8Czwm.
