The Garmin Forerunner935 is an easy to use training watch that is just as comfortable and functional in the front country as it is in the backcountry. You may sacrifice a bit of accuracy, but if that isn't as important to you as having an all-around watch, we don't think you'll notice. You'll appreciate the responsive buttons, slim profile, and At 2.5 ounces, it’s a hefty watch, though it’s not quite as large as the Garmin fenix 6X Pro Solar Edition ($899 to $1,049), which is 2.9 ounces and is otherwise the same size as the Enduro.

Since update to V12 firmware, I'm experiencing issues with the altimeter of my Fenix 5. A few hours after the upgrade, on December 14th, I went for a 11km run and got totally messed up elevation data. I live in Belgium (Minimum : Sea level - Maximum: 600m), and I had a minimum altitude of -500m and a Max of 10649m (Screenshot 1)

Just wanted to add my elevation issues with 15.20 with Fenix 5 Plus: Elevations during activities seem to be OK but when not in an activity I am getting random wild spikes and dips in elevations. Never had this problem before 15.20. The average elevation where I am is 350 feet or so. No mountains or deep sea dives!
If you experience any issues while performing the movements, simply try again until you see Cal. Complete, then select OK. How to calibrate the altimeter on your Garmin Fenix 6 smart watch: Long-press the Up button to open the Menu. Scroll down and select Sensors & Accessories. Scroll down and select Altimeter. Select Calibrate.
Jose over 4 years ago. I recently bought a Fenix 5x and I've been having issues with the altimeter readings. For example, yesterday I manually calibrated it at a known elevation location near where I live, after that went for a walk around the neighborhood (not recording any activity) and by the time I got to the same spot the elevation was off

I checked my Fenix 7X official altimeter (after an initial manual calibration to known altitude) against the altitude from Connect IQ app GliderSK (which is open-source, so I could check it does bog standard textbook altitude computations based on the raw baro pressure). And while the GliderSK computed altitude was pretty much always spot-on
