Isthere a short cut or something to to turn on/off the always on display, rather than going all the way in settings? it’s probably not what you are lookin for, but maybe it helps a few people. I use my watch in low power mode most of the time, that disables AOD. When I turn low power mode off, AOD is enabled again. No I love the look of the Watch with the display off and I love slapping the screen with my palm, it looks and feels like magic. I’ll never use it, hopefully they keep it as an option. I these is just fine, saves some $. but the 7 absolutely has some features going for it; slightly faster, thicker glass, oxygen and ekg sensors, the display is edge to edge, a new very accurate locator chip for future use, and so on, but the most important wrt useability: I charge it 2 x 10-15minutes per day and can then use the watch 24/7.

Dependswhat your budget is really. The SE gives you 90% of the capability of the 8, it’s just the bigger screen and always on display that might make it more tempting. The SE is definitely better value, but the 8 is just that little bit nicer. It’s

apples reasoning for why it doesn’t makes some sense on analog faces: they want the seconds hand to sweep smoothly like a real mechanical watch, not ‘tick tick’ like a cheap quartz watch. mredofcourse. • 1 yr. ago. I think this is the answer. If you do a workout, the time shows seconds.
Idon't know if I'd say it's worth a splurge. But, you also get compass in the S5. I think AOD will be most worthwhile when you can have a different idle display than you do active display. If you're coming from an S0, that implies you keep it for a while. In that situation, I'd go S5. Have had S0, replaced with S1 under warranty issue.

When you flick your wrist, the screen turns on for a moment, until the watch decides you have rotated your wrist back or until a predetermined time limit is reached.
