So I know this wont work for everyone but I finally figured out why I could not use my XBOX One controller on my PC version of Far Cry 4. It turns out that my ROCCAT Tyon mouse software treats part of the mouse controls as a game controller. Once I unplugged my mouse the game would recognize the XBOX One controller. So those of you with controller issues might want to unplug all controller
